A 38-year-old dancer at ‘We Are No.1 A-GoGo’ near the Dongtan police box in Jomtien was attacked and stabbed with a corkscrew by a jealous colleague late Friday night.
The two bar girls had reportedly been arguing over a customer and decided to thrash or battle it out in front of the bar after the end of their shift. The 29-year-old attacker claimed she stabbed her colleague “in self-defense”.
According to reports in the local media, Mrs Pornchita Saosa, 38, was found lying in a pool of blood in front of Jomtien’s longest-running GoGo bar after being stabbed in the back of her neck and arms. The badly wounded victim was given first aid and sent to Banglamung Hospital for treatment.
Her 29-year-old attacker, Mrs Nikom Jummanee, was arrested at the scene with a corkscrew in her hand. She told police that she and the victim both worked as dancers at the GoGo bar and had been involved in a long-running dispute over a customer. The two women apparently accuse each other of regularly “stealing customers” from the other one.
At the end of their Friday night shift, they decided to thrash it out in front of the bar, but the friendly chat soon turned violent and a catfight broke out between the two jealous women. Mrs Nikom claims she felt threatened by her elder colleague and eventually grabbed the corkscrew and stabbed her in self-defense.
Police are now questioning eyewitnesses and inspecting security camera footage at the bar in an attempt to find out what really happened and led to the brutal attack.
