An unidentified foreigner jumped to his death early Saturday night from the Rimhat Condo a.k.a. Jomtien Beach Condominium.
The elderly man who appears not to have been living at the condominium is estimated to be around 65-70 years old and did not carry a passport or any other form of identification. According to one unconfirmed report however, the victim was an Italian national.
According to CCTV footage and eyewitnesses quoted by Thai PBS, the foreigner drove a Mazda vehicle into the condominium complex early Saturday night, parked in front of a building, took a lift to the 8th floor and then jumped to his death from an emergency exit.
His “severely destroyed” body landed on the rooftop of a Nissan car that was also parked in front of the building and damaged from the impact of the foreigner’s body. As it appears, the elderly expat was immediately dead.
Police hope that his car’s registration plate will now help confirm his identity.
