Traditional Thai Massage is not only healthy, it’s a perfect form of relaxation too. Thai massage is as well a form of therapeutic health care based on ancient medicine as a form of passive meditation and physical recreation.
Massage parlours and “spas” that provide Thai, foot and oil massage, as well as variations using aromatic oils (Aromatherapy) or a herbal heat compress (herbal massage), can be found all over Pattaya and in virtually every side-street. Prices approximate 200 Baht per hour for Thai and foot massage, and 300 Baht for an oil massage. In order to fully benefit from a massage, a two-hours session is recommended.
Traditional Thai Massage is a therapeutic practice and not to be confused with a soapy massage (“body massage”) which can more precisely be described as an erotic body-to-body massage using loads of soapy water. Just like a “dirty” massage session (typically a lukewarm oil massage that culminates in a “happy ending”), a body massage doesn’t focus so much on the health benefits but provides relaxation of a rather sensual kind. And if that’s exactly what you’re looking for – please scroll down a bit further on this page to find all the info you need.

Thai massage, or nuat paen boran in Thai (which translates to “ancient” or “traditional” massage), originates from the Indian subcontinent and is based on ancient Ayurveda and Yoga techniques. Providing a holistic physical experience, a traditional Thai massage session is both relaxing and healthy.
To be clear about this: In opposition to a widespread Western misconception, a traditional Thai massage has in principle no sexual connotation; so the gender of your massage practitioner should have no effect on your therapeutic benefits, regardless of whether you’re a male or female.
At the beginning of a massage session, which usually lasts an hour or two, the massage recipient will change into loose and comfortable pyjama-like clothes and lie down on a mat or firm mattress on the ground. The massage practitioner leans on the recipient’s body, using hands, fingers, elbows and feet to apply firm, rhythmic pressure on the recipient’s body.
Thai massage follows the so-called Sen lines on the body, somehow analogous to “energy lines” or meridians. The massager typically starts with the feet and legs of the recipient, who initially lies on his back. This is followed by a massage of the hands, arms, back and neck, and – depending on the practitioner’s style – a short head and face massage. While a traditional Thai masseur/masseuse usually won’t make use of oil, except for perhaps some Tiger Balm oil, oil massage (softer and less “painful” but also less effective) and variations like aromatherapy or “herbal massage” are also available in most massage parlours, however at slightly higher prices.
A Thai massage session usually lasts two hours and includes rhythmic pressing and stretching of the entire body, which may include the pulling of fingers, toes and ears, cracking the knuckles or even walking on the recipient’s back. While this may sound painful, a traditional Thai massage – provided by a trained and certified practitioner – shouldn’t actually hurt but be both relaxing and healthy for the recipient’s entire body and soul. If you find your massager’s style too “aggressive” or “painful”, don’t be shy and ask him or her to swift to a “softer” massaging style. Alternatively you might want to try an oil massage which provides a softer form of relaxation.
Note: Depending on the policy of the massage parlour and the readiness of your massage girl to provide “extra” services, an oil massage session may by all means turn into an outright so-called “dirty massage”, culminating in a hand or blow job. Such extra services, should they be offered, are however not a standard element of a traditional massage session and are not included in the regular price.
Foot Massage – Foot Reflexology
Foot massage, as the name says, is performed on the feet of the recipient. Also known as “foot reflexology massage”, it is based on the ancient Chinese belief that hundreds of “reflex zones” in our feet correspond to certain organs of our body, and that by professional manipulation of these zones, healing of certain symptoms and syndromes in the respective organs can occur.
As studies have shown, foot massage also yields release of stress. As many diseases – especially heart diseases – are caused by excessive stress, a professional foot massage session can therefore also have an indirect positive impact on the patient’s physical well-being.
Most traditional massage parlours in Pattaya also offer foot massage. A standard one-hour session usually costs the same as a Thai massage (200 Baht).
While most massage shops in Pattaya restrict their services to traditional Thai-style massage (spiced up perhaps with a few non-standard “extras”), a full body massage or “soapy massage” is really more than just a massage of the body for the sake of therapeutic benefits.
A “soapy” is probably better described as a sensual body-to-body massage. This means that all parts of the body of your sexy masseuse, not just her hands or elbows, have a share in providing satisfaction and relief to all (including intimate) parts of your body. The basic idea is that you get a full massage of your body, lubricated with lots of soapy water and culminating in a round of physical exercises on the mattress; in other words: sex.
Upon entering a typical body massage parlour, you should first find yourself in a dimly-lit kind of “reception room” facing a panoramic glass front (“fish bowl”) behind which the massage girls are seated. The videos below should give you a basic idea of the environment. The massage girls usually have numbered badges on their dresses, and a kind of manager (papasan) is always around to assist you with choosing the “right number”. All you have to do essentially is name the number of the lady you fancy, and she’ll jump out of her “fish bowl” and join you. In some parlours, you may have a drink and chat with a girl before making your final choice; in other (more Asian-oriented) venues, you can’t.
After you’ve made your choice, your massage girl will take you to a private air-conditioned room on the upper floors of the massage parlour. Depending on the standard of the venue, some rooms are equipped with private bathrooms and relatively luxurious; others aren’t. Following the usual shower, you can lean back on the mattress, relax your tense muscles and enjoy a soapy body-to-body massage resulting in full sensual relief. A complete body massage session usually lasts around 90 minutes.
Rates for this special kind of massage service start at roughly 1,800 Baht up to approx. 3,500 Baht for “models” or even more for agency girls (in general, younger girls are more expensive than older ladies). These prices normally include sexual services; however, if the price should cover only the basic massage, you’ll have to agree on a price for extra services in advance.
All body massage parlours have mamasans or papasans, so there are always people on hand to assist customers. They’ll also be able to tell you which girls will be most able to ensure a “happy visit” and how much to “tip”.
Many specially trained Thai escort girls are also available for outcall services and will be happy to give you a full “soapy”, an erotic Nuru or Tantric massage in the privacy of your room.
While most massage parlours in Pattaya restrict their services to traditional Thai massage, quite a few “conventional” massage parlours will also offer a standard oil massage on paper, yet accompanied or followed by a few less traditional non-standard extras like a balls massage, a hand or a blow job, possibly even more?
If that’s the kind of massage you’re looking for, you’re advised to always go for an oil massage. In general, when a massage lady chats you up on the street “bar girl-style” and discretely offers you an oil massage, this could be a first suggestion that she may extend her services to a little hand relief.
If then she asks you to take off your shorts, and her massaging hands frequently touch your balls or your possibly erected Willy as she works her way up your legs, you can be 99% sure that at least a hand job is on the way. If a massage session has reached that stage, your masseuse will usually also ask if you require some “special” services and tell you her rates.
More than a dozen “dirty massage” parlours, as they are sometimes called, can be found on Soi Honey in Central Pattaya, a narrow side-street between Pattaya Second Road and Soi Buakhao, which has a number of mid-range and budget hotels, a few bars and restaurants, and an extraordinarily large number of massage shops and “massage bars”. Most ladies on Soi Honey will readily extend their (often less than mediocre) massage services to a hand job (chuck-wow in Thai) or a special “oral massage”, while more adventurous girls may be in for even more?
Otherwise, a “dirty” massage is basically available in massage parlours all over town, e.g., on Soi Chaiyapoon, Soi Buakhao, Soi Post Office etc. It’s often just a question of money – and courage to ask for special services – to get a little hand relief from practically most massage girls in Pattaya.
These less common practices provided in “dirty” massage shops typically result in a “happy ending”, for which extra you’ll be expected to “tip” the masseuse separately. In general, you can expect to pay 300-800 Baht extra for a hand job or a blow job. These rates are always to be negotiated with the girls individually and not included in the basic price for the massage (which is the same as in venues not providing these little extras.)
Note: As in traditional massage shops, private rooms are usually not available in “dirty” massage parlours. Individual massage areas are also often just separated by curtains or thin wooden walls; which means less privacy than in the more expensive body massage parlours.
