This year, the three-day Pattaya International Music Festival, one of the main events in the Pattaya calendar and now in its 15th year, will run from Friday, March 18, to Sunday, March 20.
Albeit not as well publicized as in previous years, the self-styled “biggest open-air festival” in the region is again expected to draw tens of thousands of music lovers from Thailand and abroad.
For three consecutive days, some of the biggest names in the Thai and Asian music industry will perform live on various stages to be set up along Pattaya Beach Road that will be turned into some kind of fun fair for a weekend and be closed to traffic from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. on festival nights. Concerts will start daily from 7 p.m. and continue through 1 a.m. And the best of it all – they’re all free to attend!
Popular Thai and international artists will play an extensive range of music on three stages along Pattaya Beach Road. While the “main stage” will be opposite Soi 6 this year, a “green stage” will be erected near the intersection of Pattaya Beach and Central Pattaya Road (Pattaya Klang). There will also be an additional reggae stage near Soi 4 as well as many food and other stalls to cater for your shopping and culinary needs.
As usual, Thai artists will include some of the biggest names in the local music industry such as Bodyslam, BIG ASS, Labanoon, Buddha Bless, Lomosonic, Modern Dog and many others.
Here’s the line-up and timetable for this year’s festival as per the We Love Pattaya Facebook group:
If you want to join in the three-day fun and visit Pattaya for a weekend or longer, better be quick and book your hotel room before Pattaya bursts at the seams with music lovers from Thailand, neighbouring Southeast Asian countries and across the world. As in previous years, the 2016 Pattaya music festival promises to become an event not to be missed!
