A 64-year-old Canadian tourist was reportedly cheated out of 37,500 Baht by a travel agency in Central Pattaya where he had bought an air ticket to Canada earlier this month.
When the victim, however, arrived at Suvarnabhumi airport on Sunday to board his scheduled flight, he was reportedly told by airline staff that his ticket “did not exist and he was not able to fly.”
You think that’s tough? But wait, it gets worse.
According to Pattaya One, the Canadian fortunately had at least enough money left to return to Pattaya, so Tuesday morning he went to confront the fraudulent travel agency and reclaim the money he had wasted on the invalid “ticket”.
But when he “found the office was closed and furniture inside had been removed,” he was left with no other option than to report the apparent fraud case at Pattaya Police Station.
